How the recommendations work
Every material is rated on durability, water resistance, comfort, quietness, DIY difficulty and maintenance, plus how it handles claws, accidents and grip. The finder scores those ratings against your answers; the situation pages score them against a preset version of the problem. The same engine runs both, so a situation page and the finder can never disagree. Nothing is ranked for money.
How we make money
We may receive compensation when homeowners request quotes or connect with participating flooring professionals. That is the only revenue. It does not change the recommendations, which are computed the same way whether or not you ever request a quote, and no professional pays to be recommended: they pay to be introduced to a homeowner who asked.
Who runs it
Flooring Appointment shares an owner with FlooringFAQ.com, the independent flooring education site. FlooringFAQ explains flooring in depth and takes no quote requests; this site is the decision and the introduction. The ratings and costs are shared; the words are not.
